What did you think of The Sparrow?

I liked it -- loved the characters and I thought the story was pretty interesting. The ending felt rushed to me, and my dad read it too and pointed out that there's no way a group of four Jesuits, when asked the question, "If we praise God for the good stuff, why don't we blame him for the bad stuff?" wouldn't go into a deep exploration of that.

Overall, I found it pretty thought provoking, though. Have you read it?

Yes, I've read it many times. It's a favorite :) The sequel is okay, but not nearly as good. I haven't gotten around to A Thread of Grace, but Dreamers of the Day is good. Totally different from all her other books. It's a historical novel, and shows an interesting side to some famous historical folks.
