Okay I don't always pay attention when the Hugos come around, but rare is the time when I haven't experienced at least a bit of those items which are nominated.
My absolutely favorite two books that I read last year have both been nominated for long fiction: The Graveyard Book and Little Brother. I would be hard pressed to choose between them. I read both in one sitting, loved them both, would recommend either to just about anyone.
Short fiction: I am really really excited about Dr. Horrible and the Doctor Who episodes. Errr, as long as it has the word Doctor in it, I'll be happy for a win?
Movies... well, I don't know that I so much care. I liked quite a few of the selected quite a lot, and would be pretty happy with any win. I have a feeling I know what it's going to be, but hey, you never know.
The list as I understand it:
