It's Limerick Day!

richlayersThat's right, it's Limerick Day! I heard it on the radio, so I know LJ isn't just making it up...
A couple favorites:
There once was a [person] from [place]
Whose [body part] was [special case].
When [event] would occur,
It would cause [him or her]
To violate [law of time/space].
See that lighthouse beam in the sky
That guides yonder ships going by?
My friend shines that beam;
She's living her dream.
I'm in grad school. I still don't know why.
There once was a man from Japan
whose limericks never would scan.
When his friends asked him why
he would simply reply,
"Because I always cram as many syllables into the last line as I possibly can!"
