Hiya,

I followed the link for your name from told tales. I hope you don't mind my comment, especially since you seem to really love elephants. (I do too!) Please be aware that animals in circuses are often abused to get them to do these tricks. I don't know which circus you attended, but Ringling Brothers is especially notorious for animal abuse. Here is a link with video evidence...I will warn you that it is very distressing and heartbreaking to see the animals abused: https://secure.peta.org/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=2359

A great choice is animal free circuses such as Cirque de Soleil. Have you ever seen one of their shows? Amazing! :)

Thank you for caring so much for these wonderful creatures.

I don't mind your comment at all. I had never been to a circus before and hadn't really thought about how they trained the elephants. I know they are very smart creatures so I figured they could be trained similarly to dogs.

I've been to a Cirque show and I loved it. :) I also used to watch them on TV on Bravo... which you might think wouldn't be the same, but actually my seat at the live show was pretty far back and the people looked about the same size! :D

Thanks for your comment and the information. I honestly don't know about the training practices of the circus I went to, but I couldn't miss the chance to see live elephants at least that one time.
